Student success rates directly impact a school’s and each student’s bottom line. Community, classroom, and co-curricular activities are just a few of the key factors that make up the student experience. Student retention, wellness, graduation rates, sustainable employment upon graduation, social mobility, and alumni giving, all have lasting effects on school funding, sustainability, and reputation. Some of the contributing factors of lowered student success rates include, but are not limited to, student non-performance, limited financial resources or ability to pay tuition, lack of exposure to models of success, adequate support systems and career development opportunities. Essentially, students with inadequate resources and access to social capital are far less likely to succeed long-term.
